Arlis Pine tries to kill good, ole, Longarm as she blames the recent hanging death of her lawman father on Custis. In between shots, Longarm tries to convince her he is not responsible for the girl's father's death, only the Del Sager gang. He could not know that Sager would break out of prison and return to exact revenge on her lawman father.
Longarm thinks he will cruise along solo to find the Sager gang, but Arlis has other thoughts. Also Sager's brother and his 'girlfriend' join the party, as prisoners, with events turning both for and against Longarm. Stay tuned for a lead filled ending.
This is truly a good read in the long running Longarm series. Book #391 is as fine a story as any of the others that have been issued down through the years. A Longarm fan must read this one. Should not miss it at all.
