Antebellum ReviewThis is the first of a civil war trilogy.
It introduces us to the events building up to that conflict and the book ends with the early shots being fired.
We get introduced to Lincoln the candidate.
And re-introduced to figures such as Lee and Grant whom we originally met in an earlier book during the fighting in Mexico and the taking of Mexico City.
Through the historical thread of the Van Buskirk family, we travel all over the country and meet many people, learn about Uncle Tom's cabin and the underground railroad. And we learn about a family whose members, proudly serving their country and West Point Graduates, choose which side to support. And they do not all choose the same one.
Fabulous use of historical facts and presentation of choices that become understandable to modern day readers.
You NEED to read this book.
And then wait with me for the next in the Trilogy.
